5th Grade Retreat
The 5th grade class goes on an overnight, team building retreat in September and again in May. Each year the students are amazed at how much more they accomplish together in May after learning to be a team during the school year.

Middle School Retreat
The 7th & 8th graders attend a 1 night, 2 day retreat in September. This time allows the students to get to know each other, participate in activities that make them a team, and have intentional time to focus on their relationship with Jesus.

Moms’ Day
In May, all students, preschool through 8th grade, have a time to celebrate mom. Preschoolers invite their moms to an adorable program and treat them to snacks made by their little hands. Kindergarten through 8th grade students prepare a special program honoring their mothers and enjoy delicious treats. It is our time to tell Mom thank you.

Dads’ Day
Each Spring, all students, preschool through 8th grade, have a time to celebrate dad. Preschoolers invite their dads to an adorable program and treat them to snacks they help make. Kindergarten through 8th grade students prepare a special movie about their dads and enjoy donuts with dad after the feature presentation.

Grandparents’ Day
In October, Kindergarten through 8th grade students invite their grandparents or a special guest to an afternoon of entertainment and delicious milk and cookies. We schedule this event around a Scholastic Book Fair so the grandparents and children can enjoy shopping for books together.

Girls’ Tea
It is a tradition at Southside Christian School for the 7th & 8th grade girls to organize and serve a tea to the Kindergarten through 6th grade girls. Each year brings a different theme that inspires the table decorations and the costumes of the participants. It is a wonderful afternoon of food, tea, and dancing.
