ACSI Events

Spelling Bee - when offered in our area

Southside students can participate in the regional Spelling Bee. Regional schools send two top spellers from 1st – 8th grade to compete. The top two spellers from 5th-8th grade then advance to the Spell Off. The top three spellers are eligible to compete in the state Spelling Bee.


Speech Meet

This event is for 1st-8th graders. Students choose from a selection of poems, fables and folklore, or Scriptures to prepare and present to a panel of judges.


Math Olympics - when offered in our area

This event is for 3rd-8th graders. Competitors take four eleven-minute math tests. The tests are scored and students receive certificates or ribbons based on their ranking. This testing is done by grade level.


Team Sports


Soccer

Soccer is available during the fall trimester for 5th through 8th grade students.


Cross Country

Cross Country is available during the fall trimester for 1st through 8th grade students.


Volleyball

Volleyball is available fall/winter. Dates to be determined if enough interest.


Basketball

Basketball is available during January and February for 5th through 8th grade students with the final tournament in March typically. In 2018-2019 our team placed 1st place in the league!


Cheer Team

Our cheer team cheers for multiple sports throughout the year. Cheer is available for 2nd-8th graders. 


Track

Track is available during the spring trimester for 1st through 8th grade students. 


Family Kickball

Family kickball is available during the spring trimester. 


After School Activities

Please note: Our activities are on a rotating basis. Here is an example of activities that we offer. 


Chess Club

The Inland Chess Academy teaches and mentors 1st-8th grade students about the strategic game of chess. A fee will be charge for each eight-week session.


Art Club

We are pleased to offer an art club for 1st-8th graders after school. A fee is charged for each block of session.


Drama Club

SCS offers the opportunity to for 1st-8th grade students to participate in plays throughout the school year.


Lego League

Are you interested in Legos, robotics, and working as a team to solve a challenge? Then you’ll love Southside’s Lego League team! The team can be made up of students who are Kindergarten-8th grade. The team presents their creation at a regional competition in Spokane. In December of 2019, our SCS team took second place is advancing to the State Finals!

After school Spanish Club for 1st-8th grade students.
